Renting to refugees makes an immediate and lasting impact on a newly arrived family by providing them with security and comfort. The first step to building their lives here.


Need

We are in need of reasonably priced housing for newly arriving families. All adults are authorized to work in the United States; have received security clearance by both the U.S. State Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); and are medically screened by healthcare professionals prior to arriving on U.S. soil, and again upon arrival.

  • 2, 3 and/or 4 bedroom units
  • In the urban core (Providence, Pawtucket, Central Falls) and/or on a bus line
  • Landlords willing to renting to people with no rental or credit history 

Landlord Partner Benefits

As one of our landlord partners, not only do you eliminate the hassle of listing your rental(s), you receive:

  • The first month's rent, plus security deposit paid by Dorcas International upon confirmation of housing
  • The 2nd and 3rd months' rent paid by Dorcas International on the first of each month
  • Tenant supported by Case Managers and interpreters; and who receiving help and training
  • Tenant with the need and desire to create a home and a future
  • Tenant who has been taught and trained to maintain cleanliness (and more) of their housing
  • A potentially long-term relationship with Dorcas International and an on-going pool of potential tenants
